Did they say it's going to be a total loss? Your engine's probably fine I think. Everything's sealed up inside the engine; turning it upside down shouldn't make a diff?

The only thing that could go wrong is your windshield frame. If that's fine, then your car is probably repairable without frame damage? This is just a pure guess.\

Good luck man!

P.S. Even though these pictures scare me, on the same token, it's comforting to see that most owners come up with no major injuries and feel comfortable getting another S2000.

I am glad you are here to post about it.

The next one you buy, you need to keep 1k back for new tires. The rears ware fast on this car and keeping a close eye on them will really help in the long run.

Also, can you find out what the buy back on the car is? I might be interested.

It is totaled. Mark my words. There is more then 10k in damage, easy. Personally I would not want it back if it was my car. But now for parts, that is another story

About the roll cage. I'm sure it would still defenitely protect you in a roll-over without wearing a helmet. And your right speedxracer, the cusco 6 point would probably snap in a heart beat. I was thinking of starting a project roll-cage made out of 2.5" steel tubing. That oughta hold up in a roll-over! Plus I work at a fabrication/powder coating shop so it wouldn't be that difficult to accomplish. You can't put a price on safety. I'm sure everyone else here that has been in a roll-over would agree.

Very glad that you're ok!

I wasn't there of course, but I am sure the ticket was issued due to the fact that even though you were obeying the speed limit, the speed at which you were traveling was too fast for the conditions given the ridiculous amounts of rain and flodding that we've had in this area of late. Don't get me wrong, I'm not chastising you, we all make mistakes (god knows I have ). I'm just saying that 65 was too fast to be driving under conditions where there was enough rain on the road to hydroplane, hence the ticket.

Still though, I'm very glad you're ok, and even more glad that you're going to grab another S2000 (just take it slower in the wet with the next one )!! If you can, buy back the totalled car and salvage the engine. You can either sell that off, or tear it down and build it for more power

(PS> To others, unless you've tested a Cusco cage in a rollover and seen that it would break, please stop stating that as fact. It might break, it might not, but so far everyone I've ever seen that said that it would has absolutely no evidence at all to back that up. I don't own one, but with the exception of it breaking and hitting you in the head, I don't see how having any type of supplimental safety gear ON TOP of the stock roll hoops would do more harm than good)

Don't be so sure. The reason for the helmet is to prevent you from hitting your head on the cage and fracturing your skull.

The cage will protect your body in a roll-over, but if you hit your head against it hard enough, it won't matter.

To the original poster, I am glad you made it out safe. That is a horrible looking accident scene.
