My S2000 and what I've achieved so far.....
It's your car. So you choose the wing. Just a thought. JDM is a way of life for me and my friends. No imitation can't replace JDM. And that goes for all parts of the car. Never made a comment about the looks, I think it looks great. Beautiful wheels, clean hood, lowered stance. But, like I said. A lot of people here on the board picked the J's wing becuase of the name brand and the tradition behind J's racing. That wing could be the same exact wing as spoon. But it's just a lil bit sweeter with SPOON on it.
No flame intended. Only a thought, maybe I should of kept it to myself. Sorry if it made you upset. Congrats on overall of the car. Great job, I bet it took a lot of money and time.

Adam, I bought my wing from from Action Autoglass in amarillo, TX I believe. Their number is 806-355-8904. I bought the GT51 BK/SL wing.
Stormbringer, this wing is actually lower than most of the GT wings I could find...that's why I bought it. I don't like them too high either, or too wide where they hang over the car. Not sure if there are lower mounts. Maybe you could fabricate some different uprights...they're aluminum and not too difficult to work with.
EvoS2000....that's cool!
We are all friends...just with differing opinions. I never got upset, just a little pissed about the argument that you have to have something with a JDM name brand on it for it to be special. I worked in marketing for 11 years (and also come from an advertising career household.....it's literally in my family) so I know all about 'image'. The JDM thing is cool...but I bet the wing that I have is made in Taiwan...and likely so is the Spoon car's wing! How can that then be JDM...because it has a Japanese-origin company's name on it? Therefore. the only thing 'imitation' about my wing is that there isn't a Spoon logo on it. If that's the case, honestly, you can have your logo for an extra $350! I'll save my hard earned money.
Remember, a lot of the JDM products are just about marketing....they're likely sourced from out of the country as the Japanese labor cost is so high. All the major electronics companies know this, that's why they now manufacture a lot of their products in other asian countries with cheaper production costs. Customers likely think it's all Japanese made still! Problem is that the manufacturers have to label the good with country of manufacture...something companies like Spoon, Amuse, J's and Veilside don't have to do - so we are all miffed as to where it REALLY is coming from. All I am saying, is that with globalization, you are never sure where you are getting your product from!
Read this...it's quite funny. A friend sent it to me....:
Question: What is the height of globalisation?
Answer: Princess Diana's death
Question: How come?
Answer: An English princess with an Egyptian boyfriend crashes in a French
tunnel, driving a German car with a Dutch engine, driven by a Belgian
who was pissed on Scottish whiskey, followed closely by Italian Paparazzi,
on Japanese motorcycles, treated by an American doctor, using Brazilian
medicines!
And this is sent to you by a South African, using Bill Gates'
technology which he stole from the Japanese.
Thank You

Oh, BTW, I know you said that you liked the look of my car....that's cool!
I knew that you weren't having a go at that. Thanks for the compliment. Honestly, it didn't take a lot of time to get to where I am now. And the biggest expense were the wheels.
Keep on keeping on with the JDM look. I do like it myself, just can't justify the expense.
But, it's all good.
Cheers my friend!
