The 3M vinyl (CA-421) finally got delivered today, and I applied it immediately to my AP1 centerconsole

This is what I made of it (click on image for full size):

(don't mind the enormous contrast between the silver inlays and the rest, it's the result of silver metallic paint+flash)

It was quite a lot of work though, about 2 hours I guess... The 3M vinyl does stretch a couple of mm's, but on smaller corners it becomes quite difficult. I HAD to split a part near the handbrake because of the stretching around the upper corners, but the edge is very hard to spot

If you have enough time to waste and you like the CF-finish as I and RL1924 do, I could recommend doing it also on the AP1. You might even come up with some new swearing words in the process

Cheers!
whats behind ur cup holder (the buttons?)

Did you use a heat gun, REALLY helps around the corners
Nope I did it without a heatgun. I was afraid I would mess it up at a critical spot, and without it stretched about enough to go around the corners

I have to admit something. I ordered Rick's leather console and new shiftbootcover since mine were all torn up (discovered in the process). Somehow the deep black leather with red sticks just CLASHED with the large CF finish. In the end I decided to take it off for the most part. Only a small part around the roof-control/warning lights remained.

See the results and I think you know what I mean:

I think I'll use the remaining vinyl for something like xoz came up with. Those door sills looks amazing!
