Oak Tree Grand Prix at VIR
I've been wanting to get out to VIR for this event for years. Actual race isn't until later today but thought it would still be fun to go check out qualifying and the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge race. Lucky for me VIR is a little under 2.5 hours away so not terrible for a day trip.
I don't have a real camera so everything is off an iPhone. Please excuse the poor quality in some of the pictures.

Famous uphill esses. This is always one of the best spots to watch from and one of the fastest parts of the track.

Nissan had a tent with this guy in it. Have to appreciate the older cars too.

I didn't even know Maserati made cars like this. I'm generally not a fan of any of their cars.

There was some Lamborghini race qualifying going on. Always cool to see the racecar version of these things.

These looks absolutely amazing in person. Probably the only car I'd drive in this color.

A little panorama of turns 3, 4, and part of 5

One of the coolest things about these is that the paddock is open to all ticket holders so you can roam around and get to see everything up close. Some teams had cars really far from the edges of their space while others were close enough you could reach out and touch the cars. They also had a grid walk for the Continental Challenge race.

I've never seen so many beat up Volks before. The red that is used for these wheels is perfect. Camera doesn't capture it well but they look far better in person than any picture online I've seen. If I had a white car I'd probably want some.
