I turn 22 later this month, so I'm still eligible.

THAT is how a S2000 is done.

agreed. but, then again it feels like that's all anybody does anymore

Oh I am sorry, I didn't realize you had to modify a S2000 to the max to have it be proper.
Keep it simple kids, that's what makes the car great in the first place. No need to go crazy on modifications.
im actually almost even at the point where i debated on swapping the cr lip and jdp spoiler for oem ap2 and oem duckbill lol
but its a little overplayed. my set up isnt ultra rare by any means but its at least a little different
I bought my car when I was 19 bone stock with 63k miles on it. It now has 100k more miles and I'm 25. Paid for it myself, yada yada yada. One thing that helps that I don't think anybody has mentioned is LIVING AT HOME. When you don't have to pay rent you can afford to save or spend a little more as you wish. Just an example.
I'm disappointed by some of the comments in this thread however. Responsible young adults can have pretty good jobs nowadays. I know quite a few friends of mine joined the military right out of high school, got signing bonuses, etc, started working when they got out of basic and now have a decent amount of cash. Also any of the guys that served overseas. But there are plenty of people that work hard such as myself (consistent 50-60hrs a week plus night class) and make a decent hourly wage all while going to school. It's amazing how far a little will power to save will get you.
