Nice car. Not trying to stir anything up, but i can't see why anyone would buy a z4 over an s2k. I've driven both and there really is no comparison. I guess the only 2 reasons i could think of is, 1)Their stuck on the brand, and want the status of driving a bimmer..or 2)never gave the s2k a chance, which probably comes down to it being a honda. This isnt a biased opinion either, cause ive driven a friends z4(the higher output version) on spirited runs, and i own an s2k...Sorry for going off topic, but i just want to hear other's opinions on this.
I test drove the S2k quite a few times. I considered it, but it was not for me. As for brand bias, I was |__| close to buying a new Miata, so that's not what it was for me either. Any more sterotypical guesses as to why someone couldn't possibly like the same car you do? The S2k is not a practical car for most people, and the Z4 has a MUCH better fit and finish. The Z4 was the right car for me, the S2k is not.
Different strokes for different folks, don't look too far into it. We can appreciate eachothers rides without this sort of garbage discussion. A person I track with, an ex Porsche pro driver, sees the Z4 as a very capible car, the best platform currently offered by BMW. I know many people who have them as track cars. They are very balanced and capible cars that are much easier to control on the track than the S2k. There are plenty of reasons for people to buy one over an S2k, a Boxter, a TT, SLK or a Miata, because they are fanastic cars. [/of you stirring things up]
