With my E-Z On top, there was a separate bag with two black straps and rivets. These straps are specifically for my00 and my01 S2Ks, and allow you to retrofit a glass top on the older, slightly different, soft top frames.

They attached the top of the strap to the fourth bow (maybe midway up the side), pulled the fourth bow back in place, pulled the strap taut (at about a 45 degree angle down and back), marked where it needed to be attached to the car's frame (not sure exactly where - I'd have to go look), and secured it in place. This way, when the top is going up, the two straps get pulled up and tight by the fourth bow, holding the fourth bow back in its proper location, along the seam.
