ASM intake = This is the best carbon intake that I like the most. Lots of ppl here has different opinion, is it worth it or not ? Rolex or Swatch ?

I've got a dynoplot for this intake.

Green - Baseline

Red - ASM intake, Podio 4-1 header 45-65mm & J's Racing 70SS exhaust

**Dynapak measured** numbers are in PS (hp to flywheel).
I was hoping it was a dyno with only th intake, would have been good to see the difference in numbers stock, and with the intake. You've got more then just the intake with that dyno run, so it really isn't a run for the intake, but one for an S with all bolt on's. Nice results, is that off your car.

Podio they are one of the JDM tuner in Japan who makes parts for S2000.

Sorry this dyno is not from my car. This is my friend from Tokyo who did the dyno. He wasn't too happy with the results but he enjoyed the response that he got from the intake. He expected more than this for the money he paid, anyhow result was not impressive.

I am running J's Intake, TB, header and with T1R 70, my car is making 223whp while stock was 194whp.

Thanks
Ben

I had one back in 2001 and it was on the car about 2 months and after it rained really bad in Hawaii that piece was out of the car and it was layed to rest in the field across the street from my house. To me it was worth every cent to see it rust in the field across from my street. Never again I said. Since then I have bought 2 Mugen/Goto Garage setups and 2 Js Racing setups and 2 Comptech setups and all 3 are similiar with performance gains. The Js made my car whistle and that was about the only real difference besides looks..

So I agree with you in my eyes its a piece..

Shit! you're running a t1R70 with a header and making 223...I have a 60RS which makes less than your 70MM and t1R test pipe to install and i have an ARC intake already im probably going to make like freaking 200 or so if im lucky

Jealousy rears its ugly head. What the hell do you care that someone spent $3k on an intake? They have the money, let them spend it. Is his $3k ever going to go from him to you? No. Stop hating. Do you even know the principles behind building the intake from carbon fiber? This is a race car part that was made for racing where function is way more important then form. ASM is the Current Tsukba Time Attack record holder. I think that if ASM, AMUSE, J's Racing, and just about every other Tuner with a race car though that a long metal pipe with a filter on it was better, they'd be using it.

intakes aren't really meant to make that much power at all, real companies test them to provide improved throttle response over stock which this asm will greatly improve upon.

that is why high revving NA engines are always going to be the best in my opinion, the higher the rpm the crisper the response.

and also, just because you are a hating scraggly bastard doesn't mean your opinion is valid.

have a reason to post or don't at all please.

the medical student buys an intake, posts a picture becuase many or most of us have never seen one outside of bulletproofs pictures and a damn war breaks out. much much more $ has been spent on things even less functional especially on show cars. like 5k$ candy paint jobs with an inch of clearcote. and don't forget about the 3500$ pair of carbon kevlar seats in cars that have never seen a track. no body gives those guys any shit. seems like some of you are losing more sleep of the price of his intake than he is. even if he bought a 500$ shift knob when you are atleast 20 or 25 gs into the car whats 3 more really?

When he buys an intake from asm it supports them. They stay in business and continue to develop and create excellent parts for people like us becuase they worked on their race car. I would support ASM anyday.

Anybody and everybody can pretty much buy whatever they want, doesn't really matter if it's useless or useful, expensive or cheap, good looking or bad looking. That's why it's called a free country. Although this IS the internet, but I don't really see a point in why some people have to bash others for something they bought or is using. We should be happy and give respect to this guy.
