I wonder what set of rims the OP went with?

 

 

Now I'm sure everyone's seen these before but I thought I'd put em all in one post. I have to admit, I run slips on my hatch because that thing's my beater. I could care less about what wheels are on it. But my S is worth a lot more to me so I would never think of putting junk on it with the possibility of this... (Oh and I know other wheel companies have their occasional problems too, but not as much as these guys.)

I would assume that you never seen those happen to the EXPENSIVE set of rims.

Same thing could easily happen to any type of rims.

I buy cheap set of rims for the following reason:
- Its cheap to replace, when sh!t happens
- It take less time to replace, not like volks there is always at least 3 month wait for each order.
- I'd rather not spend $2k+ on a set of rims, instead I'd rather spend $2k+ on two sets one of the street/back-up/spare and one for the track.

Those are the reason why I run RPF1s. Just cos there are pix of F***ed-up ROTA's every where doesn't mean that the same thing doesn't happen to more expensive set of rims.

 

I would assume that you've read my post where I say it happens to all wheel companies, not just rotas

 

I did read it. So what's your agrument? You post pix of f***ed Rotas as if you it only happens to that send of rims.

I think the works S1 are not exactly the same--the spokes dont travel all the way to the lip of the rim allowing the rivets to go full circle.

Cause it's a rota thread, if it pertained to ALL rims then I would have went that route.
