You need a GOOD camera to take good pictures, but a GREAT photographer can make GREAT photos with a GOOD camera. A poor photographer will still take poor pictures with even the best of cameras. (BTW -- I don't claim to be a GREAT Photographer.)
1. The fastest shutter speed you can.
2. Pre Focus if possible. Either manual focus or get the camera to focus on the area by half-pressing the shutter release, then hold that position until the critical moment.
3. If all else fails, zoom out and crop later.

Thanks She was my baby, but she bored me after a while. If I could have two cars, I'd definitely get another. GREAT daily driver and looks really great for the money.

cfusionpm: for that shot, i actually slowed down the shutter a tad to get the motion blur by increasing the f/stop # (smaller aperature). i did pre-focus on the spot however and waited for the car to zoom by as i panned. it was actually a pretty lucky shot, as i had my telephoto lens on and shot through the lcd which goes blank once the shutter is released.
