u wouldn't be so quick to disassemble and mess around with these wheels if you were the one forking over $800 per BBS LM fresh outta japan's foundry full covered by its wonderful warranty

so just don't play it off like you had much to lose anyways since you bought them used from your boy and he bought them off me and i bought them off my boy many yrs ago.

the wheels came out pretty decent
WTF man?!

Why are you on his ass about this?

We don't tell you how to mod your car/wheels/exhaust or how good/bad of a job youre doing at it. So why cause such a sh!t storm here?

Is it bc you owned these at one time?

I mean if that's the case, do you follow every car you've bought the sold over the years to critique them at how they are maintaining the car, or modding the car.

As far as I know, Jason nor Jake had a legal documentation saying "We must seek WRS2K's permissions before attempting any modifications to the product. etc etc"

[/rant]

Sorry Jake, these endless comments are just annoying.....and pointless.

I cant believe the big deal people are making because he took the wheels apart. I would rather do them myself also so know they are done right.

Wow... You're quite the prick aren't you?

I could care less if he found these LMs in a junk yard. He's refinishing them the way he likes and they look amazing.

It's odd. Are you upset that he's refinishing a set of wheels you used to own? Or are you just trying to make a point that you used to own them? I have a really hard time believing that you're simply concerned about the warranty loss and $800 price of the wheel new.

No....WRS2K is a REALLY opinionated individual.

He's been like that since 2000. Many have learned to either agree with him, or just tolerate his opinions. If you don't agree, and you care to debate...WRS2K is the man to do it with.

Other than that, I'm sure he's a real nice guy.

i'm not criticizing your decision to mod cars. i modded the crap out of my s2000 when i had it with 10.5" fikse wheels, comptech sc with aftercooler, full oem aerokit, etc.

what i don't want people to miss is that when you buy these BBS LMs, taking them apart isn't something that's so gung ho as just undoing the bolts.

these wheels, though a german brand, are forged and assembled all in japan. the bolts and the torque values of these bolts are done up by very highly calibrated machines. i know this because i used to have a couple of sets of OZ superleggera 3s and i know the careful measures tirerack goes about to assemble their 3 piece wheels. ask damon@tirerack.com.

so the last thing i want is a guy who spent several Gs on his BBS LMs (which are hard to come by since they're always low on inventory and there are only so many foundries who have these many thousands of pounds presses in the world) to go to his garage, unbolt them, refinish them without thinking first about how special these wheels are and how good of a warranty is backing them up.

now since you have a set of BBS LMs that are probably 6 years old (simon to me to your boy and now to u), out of warranty and already had the lip polished (I did that in Seattle on your damn wheels), it's not as important.

i couldn't give a crap less about what you do to your s2000. i've been there done that. but you're too busy taking all this personally instead of thinking maybe by chance there is another reader who has a nice set of mint untouched BBS LMs... who will think twice based on my story.

I ran two sets of BBS LMs on my E46 M3 when I had it. maybe if i didn't have so many sets of wheels i'd get bored like u and try to paint the centers or do whatever, but after having done this, i realized how special that bbs diamond machine finish is from the factory (NObody can replicate that finish outside the factory).

i've said what i had to say and i'm sorry you are taking it the wrong way. at ease, s2000 dude.
