Try using a heat gun & wiping down the bar with water before slipping on the the sleeve.

You must be kidding
I'm sorry but Elda looks like Home Depot project to me compared to Mugen
Here's detailed pictures of the Elda
Eldarollbar
I know this might be hard to understand in any mugen-related product, but...
Looks > function.

Mugen doesn't meet SCCA rules because it's not intended to just as Elda wouldn't meet JRA rules in Japan.
If you took the Elda to a track in Japan I can tell you it would fail safety rules right off the bat do to it offering no RHD driver protection which is because the Elda diagonal bar is intended to protect a LHD s2000 driver only, not to mention whatever other standards they have such as bar material and diameter requirements.
a few things to note:
- the Elda rear legs are welded to the main hoop (good)... the mugen is bolted (bad)
- the Elda rear legs and cross-bar are straight (good)...the Mugen's centre hoop bars have bends (not the best).
- the Elda rear legs are the same diameter and thickness all the way to the connection to the main hoop (good)... the Mugen's pinches down to "cap like" and then is welded to the main hoop (bad).

The only thing that makes the Elda bar seem less than ideal is the "tongue" that holds the diagonal

making it safe for the driver and passenger.
Elda diagonal bar only protects the driver with that diagonal bar
How many races have you been to where there are passengers? Ignore Rally since neither bar would be sufficient.
Plus, the cross-bar isn't just protecting the driver. That cross-bar is to triangulate the main hoop, to give the whole rollbar added strength.

The Mugen bar does look nice... and I'm sure it adds more protection over the stock hoops. I especially like that it can be installed and retain interior pieces. The Elda bar is a safer bar, the Mugen is nicer bar.

btw, is the foam for the mugen bar to protect your in an accident when your head/arms hit the bar? or is it to cover it from like scratches and such?

How do you join the tubing? Did you install your tubing?

No, I dont have the tubing but dealing with something similar like this before, I remembered when the material sticks, I used lighty water to reduce friction between the materials.

Once I start tracking the car more, I will use the tubing/foam used on track rollbars along with zipties.

Use silicone spray and they slide up reasonably easy.
