Along the top just makes it to bulky for the "soft top" to smoothly slide over in my case, it still does make a bit of contact as it is, but not much.

What do you guys use to rust proof the base plates so they don't rust? Anyone have problems with them rusting?
Was thinking of spraying some type of uderbody spray from the bottom.
