whoa, to me this beggs the question do I really want to lower my car? lol those fools were getting air like mad all over the place.

If they were lowered at all wouldnt they be bottoming out like crazy? Unless the track is very smooth?

Gan San owns a Carrera GT.
And everytime he drives the S2000, as he would say it in his own words "I never lose".

i dont think you are getting the point, you can buy aftermarket part for the s2k and ulitmately beat the CR(it just me or it's a types int eh video?) but do offer what the CR has with a factory warrany and all the shebang is something, i think, incredible.

you have to consider the design limitation OEM mfg has, it has to be civilizes enough to all the potential buyer yet wild enough to get 36k out of their bank.

how is it not rawer than an ap1? look at the the added rigidity, suspension setting and all that stuff.

the more i look into it the more i like the CR.

to the OP: thanks for eh video

People fail to realize certain aspects that need to be considered about the type s. Gansan, Tsuchiya, and Orido are the top three honda drivers in my book. Some balls he has that gan san old man. HAHA

iam7head made very good point as well. The CR is made to be sold outta a dealership, and has to keep many other considerations in mind. Nevertheless, I do wish the CR sits a tad lower hehe

In any case, it's weird how they made the TypeS same as the base model in the US.

But I suppose making a few assumptions (or MANY of them), you could see that the TypeS should be quite a bit faster than an AP1. As people have observed in the past, AP2 is faster than AP1s (in BM videos and personal experiences on a track). Even though the USDM 2008 base/JDM 2008 TypeS modes dial in slightly more understeer and caused a slightly slower time on the track as SportsCars magainze suggested, the USDM 2008 base/JDM 2008 TypeS should still be quicker than a conventional AP1.

Unfortunately, it's had to make a comparison listed above -- because the results from BM videos and US magazines could differ significantly due to different drivers and track conditions.

Neverteless, I don't think anyone would disagree that the S2000 CR has the best performance around the track in the world when compared to all the other S2000s from year 2000 to 2008.

You guys need to realise that the Type S is NOT the CR.

One big difference is the Type S runs on 215/245 F/R RE050's, and the CR is on 215/255 F/R RE070's - a much stickier tire.

The CR is probably another second or two a lap faster than the Type-S.

Oh, and Gansan was also a contracted test driver for Honda when the S2000 was being developed, so he had a hand in tuning it.

AP2 FTW!

I havnt had a chance to watch the video yet. But saw the blue and black CR in person today and I REALLY like the black. It was freaking sweet.

Seriously though, why bitch about the price. HOW much is the OEM hardtop option? 4-5k installed? The CR COMES with a hardtop (for those HT lovers) so its a good deal.

on a side note the 07 350 stomped the 07 s2000 on a track. But the Nismo 350z bearly edged out the S2000 CR. Honestly the CR probably could use a nice little bump in HP like maybe the Hondata reflash to really seal the deal.

The CR is the perfect package for those who want to improve on an already awesome platform without voiding the oem warrenty w expensive aftermarket parts.

Sure you can build something better, and if thats your choice then scoop up an 08 base and have it it!

Daisuke can't even drift the S2000. Tsuchiya failed him on that test.
