You have a convertible...... and you want a hardtop.... that you want to cut in half, so you can have a targa top....??

Why not just get a hardtop, and take it on and off....?

Because a targa top has a removable window/vinyl that you can put back on if and when it suddenly starts to rain. Conversely, if you remove the hardtop, you'll have to drive home in the rain. Targa is really the best of both worlds (IMO), I had a 91 mr2 and it looks/feels so nice with the top window removed, but not too much wind noise like a full top down.

If there really is a targa top made for the s2k and looks nice, I'd 100% be in the first batch (but HAS to be mugen style, spoon looks nasty).

My opinion is that a spoon hart top will not look good as a TARGA top. Maybe an OEM... maybe

There would be NO place to store it while on the go, so the idea is out of the qeustion, you would have to leave it at home.

Thats why our cars come with a soft top...... You do know you can put the soft top up when it rains right?

Forgot to consider the glass storage space, mr2 has it behind the seats but s2k has no more room for taller drivers, but if it's a vinyl top, it can be stored in the trunk.

For people willing to carry double weight (hard and soft top), then yes, you can still do so, but others who REPLACE soft with hard top, are screwed.

Here's a 350z targa, not too sure if it looks nice or not, the thread says $3k to do it.
