I have to agree with "whites2000" that it would have been better had the S been launched more effectively. I would never have expected that turn out from those two cars in stock trim.

Not too sure about the differences in acceleration times between a '99 M Coupe and that year M3 but I would imagine them to be similar. If that is the case then "smoked" is not the term that applies. I have raced and beaten that M Coupe before although it was close.

my sentiments exactly. friend has a 98 dinan stage 3 M roadster. out of about 200 races, we have decided, it is dead even. with me having the upper hand on a roll on. nodding to him on the majority of the drag races. but to a stock , or even mild modded normal M3, has no chance against an ap2. ill just say, his M hauls ass out of the hole, with the dinan stuff. this is the same guy who has repeatedly spanked a CTS V caddy to 100 mph.
now if your talkin e46, ouch, thats a bit faster on the launch. anyways, laters dave
