An S2K Named Holly
To my fellow S2000 owners and lovers, I know I have never posted a whole lot on here before. When I did it was useless or random. I post here today to show what a mistake can cost you when leaving your valet key in your center console unlocked with secured doors but a soft top.
Here is Holly shortly after I finally lowered her:

I right now am on vacation in Orlando, FL visiting friends and family. Two days after being here Holly was broken into for a basic snatch and grab from what I can gather. Howerever my keys that have everything on it and my valet key was not in my pocket like usual because well hey I was on vaction didnt need them key. I kept my main key and fob on a seperate ring. Big mistake leaving my other set in the car. The basic snatch and grab turned into a joy ride of fun and disaster. I looked out my friends window Sunday morning 0600 06/20/2010 and there she was nice and cozy in her spot. I clicked the lock button twice to hear her honk. I awoke 1200 06/20/2010 to look out the window and see my baby girl gone.
At first I though did it get towed because of no parking pass? I asked my friend I was with and said I don't know. I asked him if he was playing a horrible joke on me he said no. He hands me his phone with the numbers 911 on it. Police said there was no recored of it being towed which led to one thing. Someone towed my girl to strip her of her beauty. While listing what items I had inside is when I realized.... d@mn
The valet key was inside. The Orlando Police Dept. responded and took my report of my stolen vehicle and items. When the Officer typed in my tag I could hear the PC say Abaondoned vehicle Wrecked, my heart sank.
The following day I went to the lot that Holly sat at only to find that she was in pieces. Not a good day for my little girl. I went to collect what I could and snap a few shots of her. Come to find out the theif was oh so generous to leave me two cd's they didnt like of my collect, took all my change my favorite pair of oakleys and all my keys which have no use to them. However the secret compartment left untouched as for I recovered my iPod and other set of glasses. That is what led me to believe that whoever took her knew nothing about an S2000 other then how sexy she was and fast she could go.
That same day I went to the crash site to pick up a few pieces to remember her by and to see that this fool lost control hit a chain link fence and didnt stop taking the fence down till 300 or more so yards later. Probably rolled it missing a telephone pole but going thew a bush. The thief was a lucker b@$tard to say the least. The theif got away with their life and wrecking a mans pride and joy.
I am very thankful that I was not hurt and no one else in this who ordeal was hurt and that the only thing struck was objects that can be replaced with some good ol' insurance. But lesson learned, a hard one but lesson leraned.
Here she sits today awaiting whats to come next from the insurace guys:
