i use to have rotas on my integra way back in the day. eventually i found out that rotas are not high quality wheels. this is because after maybe only a year driving on them, plus track use, i did notice a significant bend on the lips or my rota slipstreams.

rotas are cheap!

How many times does this need to be said, HRE's SSR's have all broken on track, all wheels bend under the proper circumstances, I have a slight bend on my oems right now, so i guess HRE's and OEM's and stuff is cheap also. There is no proof out there that Rota's are sooo cheaply made and whatnot, the only thing cheap about them is their price. I don't understand why so many people think their S2000 is sooooo high and mighty that they have to run $3,000 wheel and tire packages, suburu guys have been running these wheels for a long time and no one knocks them, yet an STi costs the same as a S2k and they don't knock rotas like the damn people on this site. It's not a problem for people voicing an opinion about what they like it's just because noobs like you see rota and like oh i need to go fufill my destiny and say rota's are a piece of shit when you have no real proof.

That may speak for the reputation of Rota, but Joey do you understand that offset has absolutely nothing to do with ride height? The only part of the wheel that affects ride height is.... the diameter! The tire size and suspension can also affect height. That is why a 215-40-18 or 225-40-18 will have the desired effect; as it has been stated previously.
I am sure the OP and owner of these replica wheels was aware that Rota doesn't have a blemishless reputation and that weighed in on his decision. Regardless, he made that choice to buy them, so don't beat a dead horse. Besides, I bet that if he didn't say they were replicas, he would fool a good number of people on this forum.
Lol, you are right about one thing astig2k : the internet is about opinion and expressing it. You just need to find a way to communicate your opinion that is in good taste. There is no reason that you should have made e-nemies when you have only been here for 21 days. Dark Sub Rosa is a fine poster and moderator; I have not had problems with him in the time that I have been here. I am sure many other members and guests would say the same thing. Do you own a S2000? If not, you may not be qualified to even say what does or does not work on our cars.

omfg u put enough effort into going against everything i say? i speak w/ work japan people on a regular basis..

and those wheels were developed after the fact of work wheels..

the reason the Sp1 has the face mounted to the front rather than the back is to make the wheels cheaper to make.

if you feel the need to post "against" mine again ill give u the japan # and u can call them and get their point of view.

i swear people on this forum. all i said was its a replica of a replica and that if hes happy with them so be it.. just dont misrepresent them as something their not.

and as far as the other guy saying people who buy expensive stuff swander their $ and live at home and etc.. maybe some do. but not all.. nicer parts have more demand and better resale % wise. thats why i buy nice.

im done with this thread..
Lol...

when have I ever went "against" you? the one time I make a point, you tell me to call "work in japan" lol... that's too funny.

why would I do that? if I owned a wheel company, i'd be saying the same thing... "ooooh... replica"

I think you are way tooo into the commercialism of a product rather than quality...

I'm sure if the sp1 was to look like the s1, they would have done so...

Maybe I should call BBS and ask them what they think of the VS-XX lol...

Don't take offense to this but, no need to be so anal and uptight - relax a little instead of being a closed minded drama queen...

I've heard that too about Rota Slipstreams...on the other hand, I had a set of Rota Circuit 8s on my Integra that were put through commuting and track hell...they never bent or anything, even after hitting quite a few bad potholes and driving on shitty roads...I also had a set of Rota SubZeros that held up just the same...no bends, cracks, etc...

I've also heard and read that some folks have problems with even so-called "name brand" wheels, like HREs, SSRs, etc...

In the end, I think there are WAY too many variables in determining whether a wheel is crappy or not...things like manufacturing defects, driving style, road conditions, etc. all play a part in wheel failures...and from the information we've all seen, wheel failures are NOT just limited to Rota...
