Saving a babied Ap1. Moonrock Content FINALLY inside :)
So after not having an S for almost a year and a half, and messing around with too many Wrong wheel drive cars, I was finally in the market for another Ap2. But since I buy and sell cars every now and then, my buddy told me about this Ap1 that was going to be auctioned.
Bought the car from Copart 2 weeks ago and here it is.
When I towed it home, since I couldn't drive it (pictures are after I replaced the control arms and knucle)
What it had when I got it
2001 SSM, with 67k miles on the clock.
Full black interior,
Mods: OEM Front Lip, OEM Spoiler, Alpine HU, Polk Audio Speakers, Headrest speakers (adapted), HKS Hi Power Dual, K&N Intake, Generic Cooling plate
Interior, and exterior looked like it was babied, no rips on seats, carpet etc was all new, except dirty due to being towed etc. No rips on Soft Top either
( The reason why I saw babied Ap1, is because other than loose dirt, the interior, exterior and engine bay, and trunk had nothing wrong with it. The exterior was all clean other than damaged. Interior was perfect, trunk was the cleanest I have ever seen in a used car)
Damage? or Parts needed?
Left knuckle was cracked,
Right lower control arm broken, Upper one bent
Left fender fully damaged, and the other one just a bit bent.
Left door damaged.
Left Rocker panel damaged.
Left rear quarter panel damaged.
NO FRAME Damaged at all though.
Work/mods done so far or at least about to
Body work, almost completed.
Moonrock Grey Pearl full repaint, minus the engine bay.
Mulderized Headlights.
ASM Replica Front fenders
Ap2v1 wheels+25mm spacers all around, getting clearcoated with a little tint of black and blue pearl in clear coat. 235/45/17 Front, 255/40/17 Rear Hankook V12s
Tein Lowering springs.
Rear fenders rolled like a BAWS lol. Body shop used an air hammer, and folded it, almost like a fender pull
Other cars that the shop works on, all old school custom cars. A 69 Mustang that was finished, attracted me but couldn't take a picture of it :S
The seats that I steam cleaned myself.
Before
After
All the perforated leather pores are empty and no baked residue from the old products.
Waiting on the leatherique products so I can condition them soon.
Immediate future plans.
Steam clean anything that is inside the car
Tein Flex+EDFC
AP2 Tails
May be a Mugen HT.
A lot of Alcantara inside
Some might say, that I could have spent a bit more and got a running one, with no accidents. I say, F it. I saved an S from being parted out and trashed later. And I also got the option of doing what I have always wanted my S to be like, (almost). The paint I wanted, the wheels, the body work, most of it. By the time I get done with it, and make it the way I want it to, it should be close to a price of a bone stock ap1, with 100k-ish miles on it. I like it and that's all I care.

Thanks guys,
and this was the last project I had for a good while. J30 CM7 Accord, intake, 3inch straight pipe exhaust, Rays 77w, TL-S F&R Sway Bars, Tein SSP, everything was good
Until one night on a canyon run, caused this
, the POS tranmission failed for the second time. Even broke the case, so can't rebuild it now. Waiting to find a new one before I can put it back to stock and either DD it or sell it.

Me either, the only thing that is left and is worrying me is the paint. Any paint gurus here? I want to see some links of may be custom paint jobs. I want to figure out how much pearl I should add, and how many coats of it I should add so as to still keep the pearl finish but not over do it.
And yes, I have seen the custom paint thread
