My 18s weigh 1.1lbs heavier than stock (fronts) and 1.7lbs heavier than stock in the rear. Overall diameter is .1 inches off, and overall weight is under 2lbs per corner difference.

For the more pic requests:

These wheels are no longer made, but if you look hard enough, Im sure you can find a leftover set somewhere. The new model that replaced these is called the Ultraleggera, but IMHO, they just dont look as good.

my preference is 17's if you have wheels without a polished lip. 18's if you get wheels with a lip.
You hit the nail on the head.

Additionally, I would say that if the wheel has slender spokes (or lots of spokes), go with 18" (CE28, for instance). If the wheel has thicker spokes, go with 17" (TE/LE37).

Complicated wheels (BBS LM, for instance) look a lot better in 18", I think.

Personally, I'm sticking with 17" all the way. I've got standard AP2 wheels but even if I upgrade, I'm almost certain to stay with 17" wheels. For auto-x and street driving, they're less prone to damage and they're lighter all around.

Those are one of the wheels that require 18s to look really good on the S2000. That's a sick car you have - very tastefully modified.
