Hey Jeff, How much longer for the dyno charts?? Any idea on cost and release date? Did Vortech find the detonation problem for their '02 S2K?

The guys at Vortech picked up my car last Monday.
I thought they would have it for just a week, but it sounds like they're still "tweaking" it cause I'm still driving the other car. Also, they were looking for an A-column gauge set. They said they are trying to get an AFT market. clutch assy for the 02 cause it ain't going to last long. They said they would pick me one up also. They get special discounts. Got to love these guys!

Said that mine also was showing a slight detonation at upper revs. By testing both mine and the the 02 they were able to cross-check symptoms etc. They narrowed it down to the MAP sensor. My buddy called all excited and said " They found out what the problem was!!"So I guess a lot of the guys there were a little miffed. ( Is that a word?) I told him to keep the car as long as they need and to make sure he gets me the dyno. He said for sure. That's probably why they still have it. Just want to get it right.

very nice, i saw your car at the sema show. talked to the vortech guys while i was at their booth. drool all over you car =)

 

'A slight detonation' in the F20C isn't like slight detonation in a B series motor. Detonation is an uncontrolled EXPLOSION in the chamber, not good. Curious as to how much boost you're running when you start seeing detonation?

 

Hey people,

Vortech still has my car.
Have had it for two weeks.
They want to keep for two more weeks.
They say it runs much faster now. They've been tuning it.
They are putting on a new ACT clutch and also ordered a special ignition control module which will take a little time.
I'll let you know when I get it back hopefully have some graphs.
