Those of you with J's Type S kit...disappointed.

i may be wrong, but I thought the type S bumper came with a retrim area around the lights, the idea being that you trim it to fit your car specifically. I have heard of a number of people having to do this.

There are definitely a lot of bad kits on the market... I've heard and witnessed first hand how terrible some of these kits are such as Extreme Dimensions. I bought a lip from them that I couldn't even give away and ended up throwing it in the trash! No lie!
then i got the j's racing type cf from vis... and it fit like a glove

i didnt think the j's type S came in urethane?? only fiberglass w/carbon or fiberglass undertray. or did u get the front half lip from j's?
As for fitment issues with the Type S I can't speak to those, but I did have a few fitment issues with my old J's Half Lip. Was worth it in the end as I loved the lip.
I'd also make sure I test fitted pieces before I took them to the body shop. Not saying this is the case here, but I wouldn't put it past some body shops to over-state how badly it fits so they can charge some more moolah.
Oh snd someone in an earlier post lumped Ings+1 in with the J's Type S, so I just wanted to say from my personal experience that I didn't have any fittment issues with my Ings Hybrid Aero kit (minor ones, but they were actually places where the other panel was out of line because of an accident, not the Ings piece).

your right, well at least mine came with the retrim area. but i believe the new batches are pre-fitted so no sanding needs to be done.
The first batch of the J's Racing kit doesn't fit well. The bumper where it attaches around to the headlamp has to be ground off a little bit and the place where the fender attach to the bumper , bumper side underneath has to be ground off a bit in order to get good fitment. The side skirts, the area which attach to the fender and the rear 1/4 panel has to be slightly ground off a little bit then it will fit just perfect. The entire procedure will not take more than an hour to do.
About finishing on the J's kit, most of the JDM kits including Spoon , Mugen or Amuse, all of them has to be primered, sanded and painted. My point is, out of the box they are not not ready to paint. I have seen a lot of imperfection which we didn't expected to see it on Mugen SS wing for S2000, trunk spoiler for TSX....etc. and those has to be worked on.
The latest shipment that we received from J's, we were being told that the fitment has been improved and so far beside this incident, we haven't had any complains about that.
Thanks
Ben
