Default Thread reserved for "Knock-Offized" S2000's...

It's time to stand up and show off your knock-offs, "styles",ghetto jobs, fakes and replicas. No matter if hood, trunk, hard top, wing, lip, front, side, rear, intake or cooling plate, you are most welcome to show us what you have and tell us why you don't have the real JDM YO part instead.

Here is my Top Secret "style" hood. The bumper and hood lifters are real tho'

and my AUT cooling plate

I personaly failed to see the difference between the cooling action of the real Top Secret hood and real coling plate and the style hood/knock off cooling plate, other than an additional opening above the header (or turbo in my case) on the real hood that would anyway just increase the risk of turbo housing crack during car wash.

I do respect the quality of real CF parts, but can not justify spending 6 times more on it.Especially since our hood is made of alluminium
If the JDM Yo owners feel like defending what they have spend, please do so in a manner that will not make this thread get locked.

Now show us what you have!

I was waiting for you to post this thread up.. I have owned 3 "style" hoods in the past so heres my observation.

Jakub,
Your hood in the picture above actually looks better (and fits better) than all 3 "style" hoods I bought over the years, plus you painted it. From the pictures I cant tell the difference between the TS "style" or TS "authentic", if painted. Of course I can tell if they are not painted but having talked to you via PM, you justified to me with a good explanation why you went the "style" route. Your hood basically does the same job (as it was intended to do) that an authentic CF hood would do.

But for those of us that did not paint the Fiber Image and Seibon "style" hoods, they faded with time and Sun exposure or at least my 3 did in Hawaii. Then I switched over to the Japan aftermarket hoods. So far, no fading.

Your car reminds me of an old member Hobbyholic. Do you remember his black S2k with the painted TS hood? Looked clean.

Keep them coming..

The only thing fake is the amuse lip. I got it from spugen, and painted it about 4 times already. If it was real, it would have been in 3 pieces right now from NYC roads. Im not wasting over 400 bucks on fiberglass that will last a week. I dunno, but IMHO, cars with fake stuff look cleaner. All the cars so far are exactly my taste, simple, clean, no stickers, nothing to make you fly, etc. It seems to me the people who buy fakes want to clean up their lines, while some people who buy do it cause they want to say its JDM this and JDM that. And before you start flaming, my FAKE amuse lip, which takes a BIG beating, fits better than any real one Ive seen. Granted, I sanded down a few spots after my first repaint, but I havent seen many fiberglass JDM parts that fit well. Sure the mugen hartop and things of that nature will fit nicely, you are paying a pretty penny for it. I am talking about the "regular" stuff. C-WEST stuff fit is TERRIBLE (ie front bumper)...and need a TON of work to fit. Just my .02

Seibon MG Style Hood:

Before the paint:

AEM "Style" Intake:

Before Red Powder Coat:

Other things that might not be "style" per se, but aren't exactly authentic either:

Painted stock calipers (instead of a Big Brake Kit.) Lowering springs (instead of "real" coilovers.) Rick's smoked diffusers (Instead of "real" JDM headlights.)
