UPDATE Circuit City pics
First off let me start by apologizing for what happened to your car. It is indeed a terrible job!
The let me go on to say I work for Circuit City. I want you to know that me, and the other installers I work with at my shop would NEVER let an install leave our bays looking like that. I know it's easy to blame Circuit City stores in general. Trust me, I've seen some worse shit come out of other shops for me to fix (which really sucks. Cuz I have to explain to the custumer that the install was horrible, but I've gone ahead and fixed it the best we can.)
I know Vegas is very far, but I assure you if you bring your car to my shop, it'll be done as if it were my car.
The grommet thing wouldn't stand! The wire exposed over the engine. The ground. The screws mounted at angles to hold the amp in. Damn! It's all shit. I'd have gotten you an amp with feet. Built a floor that fit, and wouldn't bitch about it.
Not all stores are the same. I've worked at a few stores (transfer alot), and the Vegas stores for the most part are really good. My crew and I are prolly the best in Vegas (for Circuit anyway).
You are right about who they hire. Training is minimal. I've been doing installs for Circuit for about 5 years. The other two 13, and 4 years. If we wouldn't do it in our cars, we won't do it in a custumer car.
Again, I'm sorry. To anyone who made it through my long winded explanation, thanks. Keep in mind, Circuit and Best Buy, and Good Guys, and Tweeter, and those bigger install places, try and save money, and cut corners, and alot of people would except the install done on your car as okay. You need to shop around for installers. Ask to see their work (I'm sure if they're proud enough, you can see their cars, or pics of ones they've done). I have a few friends in NH who work at Best Buy. I would take my car to them any day of the week. Cuz I've seen the work they do.
Anyway...My 2 cents. Again...I'm sorry.

Coming from the install bay of one those places, every store can have different standards unfortunetly. Most regions/districts have a DSM, kind of like Honda. That person is supossed to ensure install quality, bay cleanliness, cutomer escalations, etc. I bet that install wasn't done by someone MECP certified also.
That install was horible, I would visit one of the local shops around here. We have a bunch....good luck.

Damn!
I work next door to a Circuit Shitty and see those hacks working on cars whenever I drive by. I knew they were bad but this takes the cake! The only thing they're good for is discounted DVDs on new-release-tuesdays.

That is the worst I have even seen that came out of a shop. I have seen some comparable hack work done on the street but never from a shop. I would go to honda and get a estimate to get it fixed since you know they will be crazy high. I also posted a link to a few other message boards I'm on but in the end all I can really say is I'm sorry yoru car got hacked up like it did.
so I just got back from Honda for an estimate to send to there executive people, its going to cost 1500 dollars, new carpet, and there going to weld the holes, of course now this decreases the value of a brand new car and the bootom of the trunk will never be the same, oh yeah there going to have the car for almost a week to do it all, so thats 5 days of a rental car, so figure out about almost 2000 dollars for the whole shebang. I will know more tuesday when the executive people call me. They saw this page and were like uh, were talk to them and send us your estimate, and were have a solution by tuesday. Thanks everyone for the support. Anymore information would be great, the more to build up my case the better
now I have another reason I bought this car, a great support staff like all of you. Thanks again

It may also be worth your time to print the pictures of the install and take them to some higher end shops in your area for opinions. It may help your cause if you can have someone from another shop be able to say this is wrong because of a, b, and c.
Good luck.
Good luck.
