how much more would something like this cost vs. replacing a old stock motor with oem?
Oh only about the same price for the motor about 4k+ and several thousands of $ more for machine work, parts, more parts, and did i say more parts. Not to talk about all the wiring to make both ECU work but hey i got time and a garage and a hack saw and some drill bits. lol

I am putting the brace back in it just had to be moved forward so any issues with it not being there are a mute point.....and large swaps like this have been avoided because people are to scared to take a chance and try it.
Hey just do what we did with the S2000/2JZ , we use crhomeoly tubing and welded it in front of the radiator that will make out for the piece you took off.

BTW call me monday and I'll give you a price on the rear end set up

Well props to you for having bigger balls than all of us... I honestly don't think that its because anyone is "too scared to try," its more of how this will sacrifice the s2000's weight distribution making it a lot less fun to drive (aside from spinning the wheels all the time, which would get old after 5 minutes).

I honestly would hate driving an s2000 with an lsx swap because now with all the extra weight up front and a short wheelbase, I think the drivability of it would be shit unless you just want to go straight.

Thats why I'm opting my ls2 swap for my s14. The ls2 motor is actually lighter I believe than the ka/sr20 if anything, only 100lbs heavier.

To each his own, but I dont like the idea.

well with the motor being completely behind the front shock towers minus the accessories/pullies and it about 80-100 lbs more than OEM engine i dont think it will be to bad considering that there are S2000 out there making the same power and torque with FI engines not to mention the extra weight of the cage and fuel cell an battery going in the rear but i will post up all the numbers when i get to that point. and i was saying that most people are scared to hack up a good S2000 to try something that has not been done yet i would not hack up my DD S2000 so i bought another one.

And all those years I thought Carroll Shelby got it right.
