Yeah I wish they had a mandatory driving day too! That way haters like you wouldn't get a license, but oh wait neither would I.
All I got to say is that the ones that are criticizing will probably have a wreck in the next 2 years, and what then? Are you sin free then? It happens to everyone driving slow, driving fast. Hydroplane, OH GOD YOU CAN'T STEER RIGHT TO CORRECT IT, YOU SHOULDN'T OWN AN S2000!!!
People can own and drive how they want, if you think some little kid is going to get hit on the street, their parents didn't teach them to look both ways before crossing, because in the country its rare to see people in the road, they only go in the road if they need to get to the other side, which more than likely that property is owned by someone else so there is no need. Kids have a large backyard you'd be jealous of in the country, and it comes dirt cheap.
Stuff happens, leave the hating on the idiots who drive drunk, you can criticize almost anyone on the road, because I avoid wrecks all the time like yesterday I had to swerve to avoid getting t-boned by a ricer f-150 that didn't have the right of way. OP is a better driver than average, so that's all that matters to me and warrants no hate.
Really??? I mean really?

I tried to keep my comments as un-hateful as possible. I know that my comments were very strong, but I would not consider them hateful. As for the people criticizing getting in accidents, how do you figure? Most of the people who are criticizing the choices made in the video, do their aggressive driving at the track. As for having an aggressive driver's school as part of getting a licence, how does that make it so people would not get a licence? I am sure that it would weed out a few of the most terrible drivers, but the intention of something like this would be to help teach people how to panic once the car gets out of control. I have never been a passenger in a car (not on track) where the car slid at all, that did not end in a spin because the driver panicked. I personally wish that I had started going to the track sooner. I have spun twice in my life. Once was doing something similar to this video when I first started driving, and the other was when I had a tire blow. Since then I have had many incidents where the skills that I learned at a track kept me going the right way. Several of these have been in the snow, and several have been hydroplane incidents on the freeway.

As far as my personal driver skill/experience, I would say that I am above average for most drivers, and average to above average for people who track their cars a lot. I will say that based on your comments, I have spent more time on track in the last year than you have in your life.

I would also like to point out that there is a very large difference between trying to pass on some criticism and advice, and spewing hateful remarks. As with anything, everything is a learning experience, and we often learn a lot more from negative experiences than we do from good ones. Some of us have past experiences that allow us to have some sort of insight that allows us to make what we feel are useful comments in the hopes of helping someone.

That could have been a lot worse. Looks like you were carrying a little too much speed for the curve, expecting to be able to "track out" a little across the double yellow. But the other vehicle was there just in your "line." Turned the wheel instinctively to steer away from the oncoming vehicle, but lifted at the same time when you were already at the limit of grip.

I'm thinking that if you had left-foot braking skills, it wouldn't have upset the car as much and the faster reaction time would have reduced the speed before tracking out to the double yellow.

Bingo....Same exact situation as me....Many on the forum know Lime creek road in Austin...my friends frequent that road and even tonight I received a text asking if I wanted to go and I always say no. As fun as it might be, I do not see the reward outweighing the risk.

Congrats to the OP, many are not realizing he is stating the video is old, for realizing the dangers of driving like the above on public roads. And to the reference of the Dragon, good call...I think the same thing when I see the videos posted

^ There is still good fun to be had on a nice twisty road if you are sane and keep speeds well within the limits of grip. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am always down for a fun drive. Now if the people that you are going with are crazy drivers, that could ruin the fun...
