josh, glad you're alright. Nice tank slapper you had there. Not sure if it's become habit for you or not, but as soon as you realize the car is out of your control, I usually don't even try and fight it, go both feet in on the clutch and brake, and it prevents those nasty left/right/left/right/off the road moments for the most part. You find that particularly important at the track when you're sharing space with other cars. Much easier for another car to avoid you if you are going in one direction, not constantly changing direction in front of them.
I'm glad to see you made it out okay. It could have been a lot worse than it was. In Jan. of this year, I found myself in the same situation as you, but I wasn't so lucky.
I won't go into detail in fear of thread-jacking. But here's what your car could have looked like, after hitting a civic, and a concrete divider. Lift-off oversteer at the crest of a hill, just like you, at 45mph.

Enough about your autocross training, quality of tires, etc. On a public road, where you could encounter other cars, bikers, people, animals, sand, water, etc., your training and tires basically mean zilch. I'm all for fun driving on some twisties, but you have to take it easier, especially around turns like that.
Next time I drive from Louisville to go fishing at Elkhorn Creek, it'd be nice not to encounter you driving like that. Hopefully you did learn your lesson.

My buddy from work asks me to run the mountains with him everyday and he still doesn't understand why I always say no. He pushes 100% up there and I won't. I will admit it, the only place I can push the limit is at the track. There are too many, super huge Elk, people not staying in their lanes and cops. I believe I am a better driver at the track than him though, even without dicking off in the mountains everyday.
Keep it to the track and auto X. In the end its a lot cheaper and you learn more by having a clear head.
