hmm...may be worth it. save on wash/wax craziness for a couple of years. any tips on maintenance? any chance of moisture getting trapped under it over time? also when you say 5 years, are you talking about a garaged car or a car that's regularly parked outside in the california sun?

i'd consider waxing it, depending on what you get.

the gloss black scratches very easily, but a heat gun makes them vanish.

moisture will never make it in. even if it did, its paint/vinyl.

life of the vinyl really depends on how much sun hits it, and the color.
3 years in direct sunlight on ANY black vinyl is no good.
thing is... the only real 'problem' that arises is how long it takes to come off.

picture it like this- go try to peel a pinstripe off a 1994 civic. SUCKS.
peel a pinstripe off a 2008 vehicle. i bet you can do it in one piece.

if you don't let it 'bake' on for 5+ years, its not going to damage your paint in any way. - unless you have a shitty non-oem clearcoat. if you have exposed paint, that will fade, and when you remove the vinyl, you'll have ghosting.

Has the clear bra given the car a yellowish tint? I've heard clear bra does that to white cars. Also, you can't wax over clear bra correct? Last question, is your whole car clear bra'd? Thanks

cheap clear bras will give a tint over time.
don't let nasty shit sit on it, treat it like your paint.

as for 2 grand... assuming a single 50 yard roll is enough, thats hella expensive.

2 guys, 4 hours, maybe 600 worth of labor at a typical shop. 500 in materials.
wheres the extra 900 come from?
