TommyAmrani - hey, I just checked the flappers and the little front flaps, there are actually about the same distance off the ground, my mistake. However, I am guessing the reason why I'm scraping the flappers on road obstructions is because the flappers sit further away from the front wheel than the little flaps do.

so as the front wheel is going over the bump or what-not - that little flap gets more clearance than the big flappers. And after the wheel has cleared the obstruction, the big flapper scrapes.........sound about right?

Man I think they look great for a Pep Boys Special. Gonna get me some 2nite. I can use them since I get armorall residue from the tires spinning and it gets all on the side of the car.

I was told that the stock flaps were to prevent the cooling down of the tires. Just what I was told, no reason to dispute it - it makes sense to me.
