Well to start IMHO the Spoon top doesn't look good on too many S2k's. With that said it won't look much better with the top cut out of it.
Why I'd want a targa top on my convertible just doesn't make much sense to me. If you live in climates where a convertible is common instant rain stroms aren't a problem. If you do live in places where rain is an issue plan ahead.
I wonder if people with covertible Porsche's think about having a targa top on their convertible?
God forbid you actually got wet with the top down.
Some people want it all I guess.

Just like C6 guys or supra guys or ... Old firebird/camero guys with t-tops
I think it will work for some.
I'm like a light switch with no dimmer... either on or off.
Can't see buying a top, cutting a hole in it for something that gives me half (or less) of what I want in total.

I see what you mean but, is that your car in the sig...the GPW S with a hardtop? Why buy a convertible then put a hard top on it? Looks?
I love having the top down and cruising feeling all the openness. I also love the way the hardtop looks but hate how I feel so closed in. My DD is not a convertible so I always drop the top in the S. I feel a targa is best or both worlds. Plus its different and a change to someone who knows how to play with FB or CF tops.

That's my car, and in true fashion I do exactly what I said. I plan ahead.
I live in an area where rain, cold weather, and short summers are common. Judging by the question you asked I would assume you don't have a hard top? The hard top looks good, but its a lot more than that. It provides more security, less wind noise at speed, and since my drives are 145 - 300 miles to any major city it removes fatigue from wind noise. It is a very functional worth while purchase in most situations, but especially in mine.
I liked the car with a hard top, and to many peoples surprise I didn't buy it because it was a convertible but because I liked the way it looked, with the hard top.
I actually prefer the hardtop for what I do with the car, top off days are special events.

They're Varrosten (sp?) not Volks.
They're Varrosten (sp?) not Volks.

Aren't the varrstoen rims still expensive like Volks? I mean being replicas I would think they would be cheaper. I know Rota makes a similar rim and is much cheaper, just not mag blue
Anyone know his setup
Sizes, camber etc

They're like 900-1,000 for a set of 4 in 18", so not nearly as much as Volks.
It looks okay, but nothing better than okay. Kind of makes the car look like a bath tub. Plus I feel like the best thing to have is a top that goes up and fully removes itself. Oh yeah! The S comes standard with that. A little pointless to be honest.
