AP1 Interior Update
Hey guys, I'm looking to fix up the interior of my newly acquired 2001 ap1. I was thinking about changing out the center console for an AP2 center console but it seems like those are nearly $1,000 nowadays.. Also I thought about replacing the center console carpet with leather. After searching, it seems that there was a solution called Ricks Center Console Leather but Rick and his website are MIA. So what am I left with? My center console trim around my shifter is flaking off and the carpeted center console is alright at best. I saw a carbon fiber piece that replaces the carpet but you need the AP2 center console.. sigh. Has anyone spruced up their AP1 interior recently?

I actually just sold off my Project Type R S2000 for an AP1 (2003). Once I got it I did take it to an uphonstery shop as the center vynl was in bad shape and had them remake it for me. Turned out better than OEM, honestly you wouldn't know a difference. It cost me about $150 plus a few minutes of uninstalling/reinstalling it. I did also ask for some felt to be added under it in some wear areas which they did better than felt tape.
Wish I took pictures of the process but it's a good option.
I'm surprised nobody makes a AP2 style front cover for the AP1 center console. It doesn't seem like much is there to do and would make some money
