Default Center Console Carpet Dipped Spot

Hi all!

I was cleaning my interior the other day and noticed for the first time that this small area on center carpet(where my finger is pointing at) has dip and feels soft when pressed. It feels like there is nothing underneath and I could probably put my finger through there if I try. Everywhere else around the edge of center console is solid without dips. Is this normal?

Could be just the foam underneath giving way due to aging, I would take out the center console and investigate behind the carpet and why it had dipped in that area. If indeed it is what I suspect, you can just insert another piece of foam to lift up the area and reinstall the center console back in place.

Please update up on your findings. Good luck.

I thought there would be just metal underneath not the foam. I will be removing the center console and see whats going on underneath
