Default defroster grids for mugen glass window

has anyone installed defroster grids for a glass window? i see a kit online for $47 from frostfight.com http://www.frostfighter.com/clear-vi...rder-guide.htm

if i were to install this, where would the OEM defroster wires be located? I know there is a plug behind the driver's seat for the OEM hardtop' defroster wiring but I am not sure if it will work. I am under the impression that that plug behind the driver's seat is in parallel with the soft top's wiring because both the hardtop and the softop's grids are controlled by the same defogger button to the right of the steering wheel.

can anyone confirm this? thank you.

the OEM plug for the OEM hardtop defroster could work, however the OEM side catchers have a button that is pressed when the OEM hardtop is on, so the car knows to bypass the softop defroster (since it should be folded) and activate the hardtop defroster. So you'd just have to figure that whole situation out and make it work with your hardtop and aftermarket defroster kit.

thank you for the info. i didn't know the OEM side catch had a mechanism that does that. I shall look more into how it works and make a way to replicate it if possible. or just simply add a cutoff switch for the soft top. still considering adding grids to the rear window right now.

sorry. havent had time to look into it. been working 6-7 days a week for the past 6 months. however, i think it shouldn't be too hard to add a 2 way toggle switch to one of the lead so you can switch circuits from the soft top to the hard top depending on which one you want to control.
