Default Gap in Top/Front of Dash

Hey All,

I've attached a photo of gap that I just noticed between the top/front of the dash panel and hard plastic next to the defrost vents. It's super noticeable because the yellow padding now shows through. Thinking this is probably caused by heat although the car is garage kept and rarely parked out in the sun for any length of time.

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and had any success with a repair? Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Similar for me on my 2006 car, but perhaps slightly less noticeable. Garage kept, as well.

I realize this is an older thread and you may have found an answer but I have this happening as well. Seems the fix may be to just add black silicone at the seam and smooth it out. Otherwise, you may be looking at needing a new dash.

I haven't found any info on an easy repair except black silicone or dash replacement as you say. I'm a little reluctant to use the silicone as it's such a tight area to work in it could end up looking worse. I think I'll live with it for now and re/re if I ever need to remove the windshield.
