Default hardtop brushes

Im using the oem latches and catchers with the mugen replica hardtop. Looking at the brushes that go behind the doors. from the looks of it the replacements from hardtop guy, priced at 35.00, have shorter brushes and have a cutout to allow the oem latch to slide through. I was wondering if anyone has trimmed the brushes and dremeled the plastic part to allow the latch to slide through.

I think it can be done if you know how much to cut out of the stock ones. I think they are good to use if you intend on running with the top off some times, they reduce debris from entering the drain area for the softop. Alternatively if you don't plan on running the top off or you use the tonneau cover they might not be needed all that much.

It's easier just to buy a set - I moved the brushes from my 02 to my 09 gpw when I swapped the hardtop
