It's an AP2. When I bought the car it was like that. It looks like it's a whole separate piece according to parts catalogs, but I can't even begin to think of how to get it off and put it back on.

I would take the door panel off, and see if there are any screws holding anything on in that spot. If there is, loosen them and see if it makes the net loose. If it does, just do what I said and it will look good. For anyone with an AP1, here is my DIY door panel insert thread. In the first pic notice the net is all loose, but when its all done the net is back to normal. There is also a pic of the back of the door panel and you can see the scres where you can take that net off.
