Default I have new softop problems!

HI!!! I'm from Houston and I just joined the S2k family. I bought a 05 s2k, the only bad thing that it has it's a teared dash and a bad soft top. I ordered a soft top from this guy on the web. I wanted a new hard top but funds are tight and I decided to get a regular plastic window top for now. The guy said they would have to make " custom" top since I didn't wanted to glass, which in retrospect I should've just had spend the extra money.

Anyways, so I tried to install the new top and somehow the rivets and holes wouldn't line up with the plastic piece that goes against the frame and the new top. I measured the new top and it's 3 inches shorter than the OEM (no wonder they wouldn't line up). I 'm not car impaired, I know my way thru car. I call him and ask him to find out what's going on.

My question is : Is there a size differences between the 00-02 vs. later models as far as the bottom soft top piece? Is it a "just stretch" deal? I'm I messing up the installation? Thanks guys!

There is no way you can stretch it 3 inches! Something is way off! I would go back through it and make sure you have the correct holes lined up in the plastic drain rail. A lot of the times the holes are not correct and then when you stretch it to the correct ones it will add up to your 3inches. Thats my only guess from what i can see.
