Default Leather conditioner/cleaner for steering wheels

My steering wheel needs help and I've found so many conflicting things on what to use/not use on this area of the car. Someone help! I don't want to see it even more dried/cracked and scratched more than it already is. :-/

If it's already cracked then it may be too late. (You may need to use Leatherique Restoration Products.)

Posting pics may be helpful.

Steering wheels suffer from lack of cleaning and the dirt/sweat/oils from your hands will damage them over time. The main thing is to get your used wheel clean first, then the conditioner will protect it. Lexol makes a good cleaner and conditioner set, my only complaint with the conditioner is that it doesn't contain any UV protectors which the steering wheel could benefit from. There are only a few leather products that have UV protectors. Einzett Lederfledge has good protective properties for finished leather, you could use it with Lexol's cleaner or Autoglym's cleaner which you can buy separately.

Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner can be found at my local PetsMart. Big bottles cheap and it's treated me pretty well.

How will yet another thread help? People are generally just going to suggest the products that they prefer just as they have in prior discussions. There are many good leather care products out there already covered in prior threads and there isn't one that is universally best. As with any topic, consider the source, validate and corroborate.

Subsequently, when you get your steering wheel dressed, consider wearing gloves when you drive. I used to think folk looked silly wearing gloves to improve their grip while they drive to work in heavy traffic (???) but it isn't just about grip - it's also about protecting the leather on your steering wheel from the natural oils/dirt on your hands. I keep both a black and a brown pair in the "S" now. Once you get used to them, you are lost without them!

I'm gonna have to invest. I cleaned and conditioned my wheel with Lexol and it made a huge difference. Thank you for the recommendations and like I said, I'm going to invest in some gloves.

I just invested in some Pinacle Leather conditioner and Leather cleaner. I think I'm going to run that for a while. I've used Lexol , Leaherique, and Einzett so far. I like the Pinacle as it has strong UV protectors in it, which most products don't use. I think it's important on things like steering wheels and seats , especially on convertibles.
