The actions OP took appear to the correct ones. Removing the interior for a good cleaning is not very difficult at all. Not sure I would have used vinegar, but okay.
You can buy dessicant/dehumidifier stuff at your local Home Depot. Check the section that sells plastic tarps you can also use to cover the car, if outside.
Steam cleaner is not a bad idea but they can get expensive.
If you have a friend who does detailing they should be a source of great info and assistance. Otherwise, search the internet for more info.
