OEM Steering wheel rubbing on plastic panels
Very strange, my steering wheel rubs on the back plastic plate/panel when turning, this is not normal, what could be causing it? Is there an alignment to the plastic pars/panel immediately behind the steering wheel that I can attempt?
BTW, and thanks for the forum, I was able to fix the interior light, now its working like a charm, after a look at the fuses, I was going to buy a new one! Took literally 10 second to clean the contact points with some vinegar and Voila! .

Try this search -- just paste it in Google or other search engine. Much better than the forum search function.

Is there a way to self identify what the problem is? Many of the mechanics here are shady (and that is being extremely polite). Some of the material I read suggest it could be a steering column issue, my can is a 2008 with 60,000 on the clock that had always been maintained by the same dealer from new if that helps.
I am scared to death of taking it someone to experiment on my car, damage my interior which I just redid, or steel parts of the car, yes, that is a risk!

There are no rubbing marks, just a rubbing sound, sort of like grinding sand on metal-like. Perhaps it is best to take off the steering wheel to see what causing this . . . I wnated to take off the wheel and have it remade, so maybe I should time this around that time.
