I had the same problem on mine when I bought it. I was able to remove the panel behind the driver's seat and reach my hand behind the center console enough to hold the metal ring that screws onto the plug. The ring has come off and is just hanging around the wire. The panel I am referring to has a vent in it. If you have big hands you might not be able to do this so easily, it's a tight squeeze!
