Default Seat heater switch

Its that time of year (even here in FL). Where did everyone locate their seat heater switch. It took a while to find someplace that worked. Too late if someone has a better idea I already dremeled my console. I really should start asking first.

Thanks. The location worked out great from the angle of wiring. I used the roof switch for the 12v night illumination and the 12v switched power. Grounded using the emergency brake mounting bolt. Then the part that will need to be corrected I used the always on 12v from the hazard relay. In itself this is not an issue but.... the fuse is rated10amp and the heater install asked for a 20 amp fuse. The wiring looks like heavier gauge than the rest but I'm not sure it can handle it. Maybe someone on the forum with a lot of electrical experience could chime in and let me know if its a major issue. I did change the fuse in the cars box to a 20amp (bad boy I know)...Looking at the wire I'mjust not convinced the circuit cannot handle it. Tested both heaters on full and hazards on for five minutes could not feel anything getting warm in the console.? I can run a dedicated wire...just would like to leave it as is since it is all contained.

I installed one this way not long ago. Turned out great! As far as I know, the person isn't having any issues with it.

Hi BLaderunner

Which seat kit is that? The switch certainly looks more substantial than the weedy Waeco ones we get in the UK

Hey guys I ordered the kit on EBay and installed it when I reskined the seats using a leather kit I got on there as well (figured now was the time) been using the heaters since it is a little cold and seems like it works good.

This is the kit being installed.

Did the switch fit ok at the base of the handbrake? How deep is the switch assembly?

The switch assembly is pretty long, don't quote me but like 1- 1/2" but the cavity by the hand break is wide open. I should note I have an AP1. There are guys on here that may be able to tell you if the area is the same on the AP2. Being able to do all the needed wiring right in the hand break area is a real plus.
