Anyone know about the cupholder latch? I just found mine 3 weeks into ownership. I can put ventis in there now without having to hold the cup from tipping back.
ok whats up with THAT?

my "cup holder" flap/arm thing will latch down, but I fail to see how it being latched down will prevent your cup from falling back

do you think he means he just figured out how to "activate" the ap2 cup holder?

Sigh, sliding cupholder covers and cupholders with enough room for large drinks... Sometimes I think they lowered the redline just so you AP2 weenies wouldn't spill your ventis!

p.s./ that was a joke, in case it wasn't obvious.

I found it looking for the owner's manual when I was buying it... I keep thinking there's another compartment everytime I see these threads.

Was thinking about this thread today and became convinced that Hondas design for the gas door release button is more genius than we may have originally thought.

The release is intentionally hidden. Think for a second--what makes our cars different than the Civics, Accords, or any other car in Hondas lineup? We do not have a fixed top!

Compound this with the death of the locking fuel caps on cars (including ours) as well as gas getting more expensive everyday--it would be prudent for those who leave their tops down while parked to *not* have the gas lever in plain sight for the possibility of theft.

Image, if we are having so much trouble finding our levers, how much time would it take the average (gas) theif to locate it? I know that they could just unlock the door and find it, but this would take more time.

This appiles to the trunk release being inside a lockable storage area as well as the secret compartment being evasive.

What do you guys think--was honda using forsight on this one, or did they just get lucky?

I must admit it took me about 6 months. I saw a picture of an S2k with the compartment up. I was like wow does mine have one of them.

Mine is an Import. In the secret compartment, I found some Japanese cd's and a Mariah Carie Album and a couple of handy dusters to clean my windscreen and dash with... result!
