I find it so funny that people are still afraid of the CAI. "I heard somewhere that you can hydroloc, and it will kill your motor."

You have a greater chance of being hit by lightning.
Though the risk does increased when your IQ decreases, so be smart about your driving and stay away from LAKES!

CAI FTW! You will like the tone of your engine after install...enjoy.
Been hydrolocked, never been struck by lightning.

Lets not talk about where you fall in the IQ range then.

Sorry...not buying that at all. It's a straw...and straws will suck water. You've been lucky.

I've seen more than one car hydolock with a straw...and the owners weren't stupid...just unlucky. One was smart enough to park his car on what he though was high ground during a flood. Came back to retrieve his car not realizing that the water had actually reached his car and gotten into the tube of his V2...sucked it up on cranking.

I was in the same flood...saw the water marks on my car so disconnected my V2 to drive it home (had also left the car on "high" ground and had a friend get me in his truck to take me home until the water receded...very inconvenient). Got the car home and drained at least a gallon of water from the V2.

Both our cars are lowered, which increased the risk.

We've seen a couple folks hydrolock posting on the forum who simply didn't know that they need to either install a filter umbrella or plug the drain holes along the edge of the engine bay. In just a mild rain, enough water filled the intake to hydrolock the car on crank.
