Default 2006 AP2 Seats in AP1

Hey Im trying to do a seat swap. We tried putting in the 06 seats in his AP1 but they didnt fit and after doing some research I found out the 06+ passenger have a different rail setup. Now I have seen people on s2ki that have 06+ seats in there AP1 and was wondering what you used? Will the OEM AP1 rails and sliders bolt up to the bottom of the 06+ seats? And if so where can I get those? Or will a universal bottom seat mount bracket work? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

You need to remove the metal "bucket" from you AP1 and put onto the new AP2 seat. If I remember correctly, it's just held on by some hog clips, which you can buy at some upholstery store. Just pry off the clips to remove the seat from the metal seat bucket from both seats and swap them. You'll also need a special took to reapply the new hog clips, but you can just use some pliers too.

He has aftermarket rails to fit the buckets that he is trading me for. So im not sure if he has the old ap1 rails. That metal "bucket" your talking about where can i get that? Will that just bolt up to the ap2 seat and bolt into the AP1 floor?

The bucket is taken off of the old seat bottom. You have to undo the hog rings and take the leather and the foam off of the "bucket". Then do the same with the 06 seat and put the 06 foam and leather onto the older "bucket".
