Default 4.77's

I should be getting my differential back soon and want to see if anyone had any videos, racing other cars or another s2k with stock gearing. Everything on youtube in 4.56's. I dont even know how much 4.77's should pull on the stock gearing.

5/10 people I've spoken to who have 4.77's said if they could do it over again they'd get 4.56's.

Their circumstances involved daily driving their S though.

I have 4.77 gears. Been wanting to race a buddy with one or something but never have. I would really like to know if they help me out or not. Feel a good bit faster but I don't know how they would perform in a real roll race.

AP2 owners I guess?
4.77 in an AP1 feel perfect for NA. Once I go turbo I don't think I'll want them anymore. For DD they are the best for sure. Make stop and go traffic much better.

there are 4.77 videos on youtube. NA the 4.77s are absolutely essential to an ap1. ap2 i don't know. FI 4.56/7 is probably more ideal.

I love my 4.77's on my AP1. I don't see how people who have them wish they went back to 4.56's?! 4.56's whine at certain RPM's.

I did a write up on 4.77's a few months ago. Here you go:

Yeah I have only heard that from people who never had 4.77's. I have never heard a single person NA with 4.77's that wish they went with 4.56/7 or 4.44's.
NA going with 4.44's seem completely pointless to me imo. 4.77's or go home!

Even highway diving isn't what it people claim it to be. Granted I drive 70-75 mph max but even then its at a 'doable' cruising RPM.

I drive 80 usually. Rpm's are high but makes it nice and easy to pass without downshifting or anything. I like it actually. And all the people that complain about shifting more. Come on... hahha 1 more shift maybe? I can cruise in 6th gear going 35-40 mph with no issues.
