Just remember 8lbs of flywheel will rev faster and the rpms will drop faster due to less momentum so stalling it when you first take off is a possibility until you learn how to use the pedal with it. I hear most with that light on a DD arnt overly happy about it.

I LOVE mine. The lighter the better. I don't know how you AP2 guys deal with that dumptruck flywheel your stuck with. The S is such a rev happy car a light flywheel should have been a factory option. The only drawback is slightly more transmission noise. Yeah the revs drop faster and it's easier to stall but if your driving a S you should be A DRIVER and adapt.

Do you guys know if a stock AP1 flywheel will bolt right onto an AP2 w/o any changes? AP1 = 14lbs and AP2 = 22lbs?

I'm thinking an AP1 flywheel would be a nice upgrade for an AP2. An 8lb flywheel might be a little too light for some people, it's really all personal preference. If 8lbs is too light for some folks, it might not be a bad idea to just go with an AP1 and have a machine shop shave off a couple lbs to bring it down to say 12lbs.

My hyper single comes with like a 9lb flywheel, IIRC. The whole clutch and flywheel assembly weighs like 28lbs? Including bolts and stuff. Something like that lol. It's nice and light.

It's a pretty on/off type clutch. It's definately a lot harder to drive than stock, but once you get used to it, it's fine. I drive an EM1 daily with a stock replacement Exedy and a 9lb flywheel in it. I have no issues there. My GF can even drive my EM1 just fine. I switch back and forth between the 2 cars and I'm used to either one by like 1 or 2 stop and go cycles.

So...with a stock clutch, a light flywheel is perfectly acceptable. Plus, it's F'ing awesome.

Yes, it's just like installing a clutch. I was considering doing the job myself....on the floor...in the garage. You know? Dropping down the cradle and all that junk.

Then a local shop said they'd do it for $300...in 2 days. DONE!
