Adjusting Ingalls ETD
I have the Ingalls ETD on my car and it's at the stock damper setting. How do I adjust it to make it stiffer?
I tried following the directions, but they're a little confusing. Is the whole shock body supposed to spin when adjusting?

Tighten the two copper colored nuts on the short side of the damper closer together. I believe it comes set at 14-15MM. Mine is in the 11-11.5mm range and that is where shifting feel improved dramatically without any negative side effects such as vibration. Do not tighten it any less than 10mm or more than 15mm.
It may spin a little but I cant remember how much.
The long end of the ETD should be attached to the engine mount and the short end to the strut tower mount.

I really want to try out your 11mm setting, but damn that 27mm nut is impossible to crack loose.
Just curious, how did you break loose the 27mm copper colored locking nut? That thing is on there SUPER tight. I was able to break loose the 17mm silver colored locking nut just fine.

That's exactly the problem that I'm having

The only nut you have to tighten is the copper colored nut next to the silver locknut nut on the short end of the ETD. Make sure the silver jam nut on the short end is loose. Use a wrench on the large copper nut next to the gray ETD body for leverage and another wrench to tighten the smaller copper nut to the left of it (its between the silver jam nut and large copper nut that is next to gray ETD body). Once you get it to 10mm-12mm re-tighten the silver jam nut. The back of the Engall's ETD box also has a picture of this. Do not try to loosen the large copper nut next to the shock body. Its the smaller copper nut next to it that needs tightened into the larger copper nut. Make sure to adjust the ETD when its not mounted.
Sorry if my explanation sucks.
