Default Aem CAI dbw on AP1?

Hey foolios, I have a question.
Would the Aem Cai for 06+ dbw model work for my Ap1?
I don't want to cut into the brake duct for an air inlet, since I am about to add my fogs in there.

Edit: here is the link from the aem website

probably not. why? well the MY06 has a sensor for the intake air temp. and the intake probably has a hole for that. but that can be sealed up. next issue is the vacuum hose for the air pump. the MY06 doesnt have an air pump or a hose for that matter. unless you have an air pump delete kit, this isn't going to go well. your going to have to figure a way to get the hose to seal and stay on.

probably alot easier is to but the V2 cai and then cut a hole in the black plastic that separates the brake duct area and the radiator area, since you were already planing to cut it anyways with the cai for the MY06+. then run down to the nearest ricer shop (autozone, autoparts, pep boys) and pick up a fake scoop and cover the hole that you made in the side wall. the fake hood scoop is functional.

Thanks for the replies, yeah I guess I'll just buy the v2 cai and make the scoop like ans2k said.

Probably will do it in a few months when I get tired of my mugen rep intake and after a tranny swap. Just planning ahead for now (:

Btw ans2k, I have an aluminum v shaped vent thing that looks like it's used for air conditioning, there is also a flat spot under the v kind of like:

.....\_________/
...........|___|
The dots are open spaces haha

Would that work or would the airflow be affected?

you always want to avoid sharp 90 degrees corners. and you want something that can deliver alot of air. you probably want something that can direct air into the filter. using sharp corners can disrupt the air and cause turbulence that can force air away from the filter.
