Well I bought my s2k awhile back and it came tuned with the AEM EMS already. I know when you unhook the battery and put in back on it resets the ecu for the car and I was wondering would that happend here too. If I unhook my battery will it erase all the tuning done on the AEM EMS requiring me to get the car retuned than?

 

No, the tuning will still be there, no problem.

Why dont you backup your tune, you only need a serial cable and a laptop?

A laptop with a serial port...which are pretty rare these days since USB is the standard.

You can buy a USB to serial conversion cable on ebay if your laptop doesn't have a serial port.

 

You can but they aren't to reliable with AEM Pro
You can get PC card serial adaptors, these have more succes thna USB adaptors.
I bought a used IMB T23 laptop just for this job as it has an inbuilt serial port
I use it for other car software - Honda ESM, traction control software, manuals etc

 

Get the Pc Card serial port, the USB to serial is a complete fail

 

All right thanks for the info. It's nice to know I won't have to worry about losing the tune than. I'll look more into backing up the tune.
